6mm tempered/toughened glass is made of 6mm float glass, including clear glass, low iron/extra clear/ultra clear/super clear glass, tinted/colored glass, reflective/coating/coated glass, patterned glass, Low-e glass, etc. Toughened glass is processed by cutting annealed glass into customized sizes, heat the glass to softening point of 680~700 degrees, then quenching rapidly. After tempered, the glass is 4~5 times stronger than annealed glass.
6mm low iron toughened glass has almost the same features as 6mm clear toughened glass, with 2% higher visible light transmission than 6mm clear tempered glass. An obstructed view can be seen from 6mm ultra-clear tempered glass. It is also known as extra clear tempered glass, crystal clear glass, super clear toughened glass in some NA districts.
