10mm Toughened Glass by Elite Safety Glass
It is processed by heating 10mm clear float glass, 10mm low iron glass, or 10mm Low-e glass to 650 degrees softening point, and then quenched rapidly. It creates tension inside the glass and compression outside the glass surface.
Heating Time
10mm clear/low iron tempered glass in Radiant furnace: 39s/mm, total 388 seconds~398 seconds
10mm clear/low iron toughened glass in Forced Convection furnace: 28s/mm, 275 seconds~285 seconds
10mm tinted/colored tempered glass in Radiant furnace: 35s/mm, 352 seconds~362 seconds
10mm tinted/colored toughened glass in Forced Convection furnace: 28s/mm, 275 seconds~285 seconds
Quenching Time
10mm toughened glass Quench Time=Glass Thickness^1.8=10mm^1.8=63s
Compression & Tension Zone
21% (2.10mm) up & down part with compression, 58% (5.80mm) middle part with tension.
Surface compression >90Mpa (over 13000Psi).
